You know, it's frustrating enough that you can't get violent, crazy people arrested,

We're going to talk with Todd Spitzer, the Orange County DA, about the case of Ike.

His full name is Ike Nicholas Souser.

He's only 20 years old.

And he originally went to prison for stabbing his mother to death seven years ago when Ike was 13.

And obviously he got out fairly quickly. But he keeps getting arrested. He keeps getting

light sentences. And he keeps getting out and he's on the loose and commits more

crimes. And the latest is he walked away from a halfway house in Santa Ana and disappeared.

He's been captured in Mexico. Let's get Todd Spitzer on, the Orange County DA to talk about this

crazy case. Todd, how are you?

I'm great. I'm really happy that Ike Souser is back in custody. Believe me, you're right.

He killed his mother when he was 13. He's actually been in jail, Juvenile Hall when he was, he was found to have a sustained petition. Juvies are a little different.

The judge didn't find murder. The judge found manslaughter. So he did his time in juvenile hall.

And then you may remember there was a huge manhut for him, John. He escaped from the juvenile hall twice, and we had to find him. He

actually went in out through a window, got up on the roof. This was a major, major story,

and there was a manhut for him then. This was, I think he escaped the first time before he even

started his trial. I think he was a waiting trial.

But irrespective, as he became an adult, he was shifted over to our Orange County jail.
