because Gavin Newsom is in political and physical retreat. He ran out of the state after a massive foul up yesterday.

I didn't see the news.

Well, it was posted at 3 in the morning on the LA Times site.

And I got about 5.30 and I saw it.

And it's like, is this real?

So for months, they've been working to somehow derail our repeal of Prop 47.

And if you followed the show, you heard the stories. They were trying to browbeat the California District Attorney's Association into removing it off, removing it from the ballot, or rewriting it in a way that would

neuter the proposition. Then they had a package of retail theft bills with poison pills in it.

We talked much about that. Then this week, they had a third idea. How about their own initiative

that would also have poison pills in it that would interfere with the passage of Prop 47,

repeal, the repeal of Prop 47. And suddenly last night, the whole thing collapsed. They had

written it on Sunday. They had to post it for 72 hours.

And then tonight, they were going to finalize the vote.

And it was going to be on the ballot.

But they needed a two-thirds majority because they were rushing this through.
