Dominic Choi was coming on.

He is the LAPD chief.

Maybe you didn't know that, but LAPD chief Dominic Choi, he replaced Michael Moore a short time ago, Moore retired, and Choi is officially the interim chief. A permanent chief is supposed to be named later in the year. And Dominic Choi coming on in about an hour, and you want to listen to that, especially if you're dealing with what we all

deal with in the city of Los Angeles, which of course spills out to a lot of other cities in

LA and Orange County. But Steve Gregory is here because this is a story that I have a lot of

interest in. I find this fascinating, and it's when the 10 freeway was shut down last year and could have collapsed because of all the fire damage underneath.

Looked like that underneath the overpass, Caltrans has allowed a lot of random businesses to set up. And there was, under this particular

part of the freeway, a lot of flammable material. And very possibly a homeless person was

loose and started a fire. And that heated up the freeway to the point where everyone thought,

wow, is it going to collapse? Do we have to tear this thing down?

And then everything went quiet. Newsom came out and said, look, look, we fixed it months and

months in advance. Aren't we great? Aren't we wonderful? And I'm suspicious of the whole thing.
