A congressional investigation for the first time has made a formal Justice Department referral

for an ex-president to be considered for federal prosecution on multiple criminal counts.

We believe that the evidence described by my colleagues today

in assembled throughout our hearings warrants a criminal referral

of former President Donald J. Trump.

It was the end result today of 18 months of investigation,

over a thousand interviews conducted, hundreds of thousands of documents obtained,

more than 100 subpoenas issued and shocking evidence shared with the public.

I saw friends with blood all over their faces, I was slipping in people's blood.

If I made it clear I did not agree with the idea of saying the election was stolen
