Back in 2016, on a wet and windy day at the end of November,

I recorded a programme about a remarkable woman called Anne Wallowa.

30-od years ago, Anne came to live in a small island off the south-west of sky called Soi.

It's one of the most remote spots in Scotland.

I have to say, it's a bit of a trail. For me you head up from Aberdeenshire to Inverness

and then from Inverness you head north towards Ullupil,

cut left towards Loch Cairn,

cross the hills towards Kala Lakhalsh,

across the bridge to Sky, then you travel right the way across Sky to Elgol, and then it's this.
