The big trade yesterday, Quinn and Williams, I believe they called him Q ball on the Hard Knocks, New York Jets a couple of years ago.

Quinnan Williams is a Dallas cowboy. He is a three-time pro bowler.

He is a former 22 All-Pro. He is regarded as one of the very best defensive tackles in all of the NFL.

He was a very high first-round draft pick. He was an absolute force in college. He went to

Alabama. It was the third overall pick in the 2019 draft and has just not disappointed

whatsoever. He banged up a couple of his first years, but has honestly been better the last few years

in the league than he was probably in his first two or three seasons.

But he's a beast, man, and it costs you a 2027 first round pick and a 2026 second round

pick and some guy named Mazie Smith that apparently was on the Cowboys.

And so when you look at this, the overall haul, and I think it's interesting when you look at all the acquisitions that they've made,

and this goes back to with Micah and even George Pickens.

So you sent away Micah Parsons, Mazzie Smith, a first round pick, a second round pick, and a third round pick. And you got back, Quinn and Williams, Kenny Clark, George Pickens, and a first round pick. And when you look at that, that's why, again, the George Pickens thinks to me, if you can get him to stay. Throw the seventh and then Logan Wilson in there also. Okay, the seventh and Logan Wilson. There you go, sure, fair. So you gave up a lot of draft capital, but you've got back some pieces. And again, if George Pickens stays, and I don't really care about Kenny Clark at this point, it'd be great if you can bring him in as a backup defensive tackle at the right price next year. Cool, but whatever. Then that's the key. Pickens is the key. It really is

because then you feel like, all right, I don't mind giving up a second and a third if I got back

Quinn and Williams and George Pickens. And basically, yeah, you gave up a first rounder, but you

still have an extra first rounder in the next two years anyway. So I don't mind. Yeah. The complete puzzle piece of it is, I think, very dependent on George Pickens sticking around for at least two or three more years. And they do have that franchise tag option. And that if they're throwing pickings, he's not going to have a choice, dude. If that's what has to have, you've got to keep George Pickings. He has to be here next season. I'm totally with you. Whether it's paying him $28, $29, $30 million a year and just kind of biting that bullet for four years. So you can kind of keep that window open a little bit longer offensively or what but he has to be on this roster next year to make everything complete and we were talking about this before we went to break as far as all right because that's who the cowboys wanted before the season started when they wanted to trade mica yeah and you call the jets and say all right we have mica forah for Quinn and Williams. And I wonder if that would have been a straight-up deal. It kind of feels like it would have, and you're not getting any draft capital from it. Because the Jets are probably saying, look, all right, Micah's great. But Quinn and Williams, that's our guy also. So are you going to throw anything in there for us? I wonder if because of this price, if with Micah, they still, the Cowboys wanted a pick from the Jets.

And they were unwilling to do that.

Like here's Micah, but we want Quinnon and a first rounder.

I don't even know if it would have been a first rounder, but something else.

A little more capital from that because you're feeling you're getting the younger player. And we're taking back Quinnon Williams, who's already signed it. I know you got to pay Mike a lot of money. But I feel like we need to get a little something else. I would love to know those conversations are the Jets were just saying, I don't care what it is.

We're not getting rid of Quinn and Williams.

And then you go one in seven or one in eight and say, okay, well, then we've conversations are that Jess were just saying, I don't care what it is. We're not getting rid of

Quinn and Williams. And then you go one in seven or one in eight and say, okay, well, then we've changed our mind. Yeah, brand new head coach, who's a defensive-minded head coach. I don't want to get rid of him. We've got to at least try. You can't go into this season expecting to have one win in the first half of the season.
