Let's roll. Do it. This one was really directed at you and you sent it to the Am I the Jerk file. Not directed to you. Yes. It was sent to me. Yes. So hey Matt, walking my dog and he does his business. I do my civic duty and leave the bagged up breakfast on the edge of the trail path so I can pick it up on the walk back. Note that there isn't a trash can in the direction I was going, so this keeps me from carrying around a steaming pile, but I grab it on my walk back.

The thing is, as soon as you leave it there, you're not a jerk because of your intentions, but everybody who approaches that is getting like, what the hell, man? Somebody left their dog's poop here? Yep. But you do pick it up on the way back, so you rectify all that, and then they just wander into the world thinking somebody's a jerk when really you're not. Yeah, optics are going to be tough to avoid on this one.

Because even if you try to explain it to somebody, they're not going to believe you. But if you know in your heart of hearts that you're going to come back and you actually do it, and you do it up when you come back. Yeah, you're not a jerk. Then you can absolve yourself. You have bagged it up. You're good. On the edge of the trail.
