He is due a contract extension.

But here's what his teammate George Kittle said on the Rich Eisen Show about Iyuk and his situation.

This is new today.

I didn't get signed to like the second week of training camp. Debo was pretty late. Bosa was late too. Bosa was the first week of the season. I was like, that's just how business has done that there. And like, I'm not in the meetings. Like, I have no idea. Right. I actually go out of my way to not talk to anybody going through contract negotiations. So when people ask me questions, I'm like, I have absolutely no idea.

But, like, I'm not concerned about it. Iyuk's a phenomenal football player who's a big part of our offense. And he's like one of the most complete receivers that I've ever played with. So I'm going to assume that Iyx is going to be on our team by the time the season starts. And Ian, when we heard Kiddell say something you've been reporting all offseason long is that the Niners tend to wait until late into the process to finalize things. Any updates on the situation? Or is that still kind of the course the way things look like they're going to shake out? No, we've seen Brennan Ayuk on social media plenty. Kind of give it some hints about how he's feeling or how he's wishes he was feeling, wishes the 49ers, wanted him more. We've seen him share a little commanders. Snippets, of course, his good friend, Jaden Daniels, now the quarterback there. But as far as what he's actually said about his contract extension or lack thereof, really the loudest he has spoken is when he did not show up for mandatory minicamp.

But player wants to make clear that he is not happy about where his contract extension stands.

He does not show up.

Now the big question, of course, is is IU going to show up for training camp?

And you figure if he was willing to take that strong of a stance from minicamp,

perhaps he could do the same for training camp.

He does want a contract extension.
