America's economy added 303,000 jobs in March, up from 270,000 in February.

The figure was well above expectations of around 200,000 jobs.

The unemployment rate fell slightly from 3.9% to 3.8%. The Federal Reserve had been looking for signs of a weakening of the job market as it decides when to begin cutting interest rates.

The Israel Defence Forces fired two officers involved in an air strike that killed seven aid workers in Gaza.

The IDF said they failed to register messaging that the aid convoy

was travelling by car and their order to strike was based on too little information.

Meanwhile, after an American ultimatum Israel agreed to

temporarily reopen the Aerez crossing in northern Gaza for aid. Johnson and Johnson is set to buy Shockwave, a medical device manufacturer for around $13.1 billion.

Shockwave is best known for producing devices that use electrical impulses to treat calcified archeries.

J&J is seeking to bolster its medical technology business, especially in cardiac health.

The American conglomerate took over a biomed, another heart device maker for 16.6 billion billion in 2022.

Ukraine said it destroyed six Russian planes in a strike on an airfield in southern Russia.

The attack on the Rostov region also damaged eight other aircraft, Ukraine claimed.

Russia did not confirm the destruction but acknowledged Ukrainian drones targeted Rostov as well as four other regions.

Ukraine has ramped up its campaign of drone attacks beyond the border.
