That's not a macabre or a maudlin practice.

It's actually a good topic for Christians.

And I have found, by the way, that pastors, for the most

part, welcome such ideas from their church members. Well, in my case, I thought of my confirmation

hymn, a kind of an old hymn for all the saints. And a recent hymn, we praise you and acknowledge you,

O God, to be the Lord. And how could I leave out a mighty fortress is our God?

But I also had to say that a very, very good hymn for a funeral is Abide with Me.
