There have been a few cases over the years where, you know, a donation check will come in through

the mail to support what we do and there'll be a note with it that's, you know, one of them,

I think, was something along the lines of, I've always been avidly opposed to hunting, but I saw

an article about this program in the paper or online now, I guess it would be, and read it and realized, wow,

somebody's actually doing something good with some of the surplus animals.

So while I would rather they not be shot at all, if somebody's going to hunt them,

I would at least like them to be put to good use.

And so I think that speaks volumes right there.

How can I help? How can I be useful in ending needless suffering?

Do not be afraid of work that has no end.

We have to organize a social movement.

We have an opportunity to lead by example versus just talking, hot air.

I think the more people in this fight, the more we grow,

eventually it could change.

The people are the ones that can make the change.

Today's episode is about farmers and hunters feeding the hungry, an organization dedicated to fighting hunger in America by recruiting hunters to donate meat to local homeless shelters and food banks.

Personally, I think this issue is one that can be happening all around us.

It's invisible and oftentimes there are no telltale signs that somebody is struggling with hunger.

So a few stats for you before we begin.

35 million people in the U.S. do not get enough food on a day-to-day basis.

And more than half of all food bank recipients are actually employed.
