Our scriptural text today comes from Psalm 127, verse 1 and verse 2, notice there these words,

unless the Lord builds the house, its builders work for nothing.

Unless the Lord watches over the city, the men who watch over it stay awake for nothing. You rise up early and go

to bed late and work hard for your food, all for nothing. For the Lord gives to his beloved ones

even while they sleep. We're talking today from the subject, the house God builds.

The house God builds, the house that God builds.

This is to help us to realize that God is a master builder.

Not only is he the master builder, he's also the master architect. So he both

designs and then he builds. Now, when it says that God is the master builder, that does not

mean that God is going to get hammer and saw, you know, in all kinds of levelers and things of that nature.

It means that he's overseeing the whole building construction process.

He designs it, and then he will get us, and so we become general contractors.

We become those specialists and artisans, sometimes the brick layers and the ones that

help to lay the foundation and other folks that do the sheet rock and the people that do

the plumbing work and then the people that do the electrical.

There's a whole lot that goes into it.

I built a home so I know what it is to choose, you know, windows and design all of your flooring and all of your plumbing fixtures and all of that.

It's a lot of work.

But then, you see, we hire a builder, the master one that oversees the whole project, but they're not the ones that's in there physically doing the work.

God is the master builder.

We are some of his subcontractors. We work for him.

And that's why it is incumbent upon us to be people of integrity so that we do work so that
