Welcome, I'm Lauren and today this evening we are going to do a sleep story moving into

a progressive guided meditation about a butterfly. Before we start, find a space, a safe space in which you

may meditate. Declutter the space, bring a sense of intention to this space, dress in loose clothing,

perhaps your pajamas and when you are ready, let's begin. Sit down or lie down comfortably and we will begin.

Come into this space, be aware of your surrounds and breathe. Notice your pattern of breathing,

notice the inhale on the exhale. Without judgment, it is what it is, except how you feel right now.

Notice any thoughts, any feelings, any emotions as the observer, moving towards a sense of relaxation,

a sense of soothing pace. As you relax, start to imagine, start to visualize,

imagine yourself walking, walking through a beautiful forest. Imagine looking around and seeing the forest,

noticing the trees, the different trees, the foliage, the plants, as you walk slowly, you take each step

deliberately, you notice the movement, you notice the action of stepping forward, you experience

the rhythm of one foot at a time, stepping, stepping. You look at the trees, some trees at all and majestic,

others are more round and full. You notice the thickness of the trunks and at times you stop and place your

palm on a trunk and you feel the texture of the bark. You enjoy the sensation of running your hand up

and down, up and down the trunk. You look up and you see the branches spread out.

You notice the leaves rustling gently in the breeze, you feel the breeze against the face.

You can hear the sound of a nearby stream, you can hear the running water

and there are birds singing up above, sweetly, you listen to their melody, you enjoy the sounds of the birds,

as you step at times you see a bird fly past, you notice the colour of the birds' feathers.

As you keep stepping forward, one step at a time.
