Lawson. Hello and our digital director Mike Kogan. Hey guys. Hey, happy Emmys FYC season everybody.

It is the month of June, which means that it's just about time for

Emmy voters to start filling out their ballots, which means TV people are everywhere and

we'll be talking about a good bit of that on this week's episode including

catching up with our colleague Rebecca Keegan who's been witnessing a lot of

this Emmy season chaos firsthand.

But before we get into all of that,

we have just a couple things to catch up on.

And Mike, you've been getting some feedback

from some listeners about last week's episode

that I think you wanted to step in and respond.

Yeah, so last week I said something like,

when we were talking about Can, we're talking about the grimness of the Can movies

that Richard was describing,

and how we're hoping that there will come a time, you know, a year from now where people have started to figure out some solutions to the horrible things that are happening in our world.

In fact, also acknowledging that like probably these movies were even made before Brexit and Trump, you know, and all that stuff.

But I think I said basically Europeans don't share American notions of progress which I actually sort of stand

by but I feel like that is a horrible way of expressing it and made it sound like I was slamming all Europeans and painting
