Steve Cropper has passed away at the age of 84.

Yes, a cause of death was not immediately known, but he suffered a recent fall and was at a rehab facility in Nashville.

And I guess things took a turn for the worst, as they do when you're 84.

But yeah, he was in Booker T and the MGs, the Memphis backing band that was on many

stacks records back in the day.

Is he on green onions?

Yeah, he wrote and he on green onions?

Yeah, he wrote and played on green onions.

And his name is immortalized in Soulman, the 1967 hit by Sam and Dave.

At one point in the song, Sam Moore, the singer, calls out, play it Steve.
