The Apostle John says, we love because he first loved.

I've heard stories about the Apostle John, you know, he outlived all the other guys, maybe because he leaned his head on God's

chest. There's even stories about them trying to boil John and oil, but he wouldn't burn,

because he was burning with another love that was hotter than the

oil and he outlived the other guys and I've heard these stories of rumors where

they would bring him into a meeting because he was so old

they'd have to carry him in and all he could say was God is love.

It's all he could talk about was love.

And John says that we love because he first loved.

I love to look at it like this.

We dance because he first danced over us.

We sing because he's always been singing over us. Some of us have to paint and fill canvases with beauty because he

first painted over us. In fact every moment he's continually painting.

Have you ever thought there's a sunset happening 24-7? There's always a sunset going on.

When we saw the sun sink into the ocean. There's always a sunset going on.

When we saw the sun sink into the ocean here, a little further west, they were watching it. Ten minutes later and ten minutes later and ten minutes later and an hour later.

The sun is always setting, God is always painting over

his children. And he's so wasteful with his creativity, he just paints a new one every

morning and a new one every evening, wipes the canvas clean.

We paint because he first painted over us.

We write because he first wrote our names in the book and he's been writing our story before creation. We create, we invent, we

dream because he first did these things over us.
