This is hell. We started this week by first discussing the exciting world of municipal bonds.

Well, it may not be exciting.

In fact, as award-winning writer Clark Randall

admitted on our show, to be honest,

how our cities are funded is really pretty boring.

That is, until you recognize that those same bonds are

underwriting police violence around the country while cities social services

suffer. We then moved on to a discussion with Matt King on Big Tech, the garbage and waste crisis they

profit from and now want to make a killing through cleaning up the mess they created.

A garbage crisis that has gotten so bad. They're now finding micro particles of

plastics not only in breast milk, but human hearts. Like bondholders profiting from

police violence, it's what happens under neoliberalism and putting profits before people,

and it's pretty freaking frightening, especially in an era when we are facing planetary climate change.

Despite all that, what do conservatives fear most? A burning planet? No. They fear

new understandings mostly held by young people on sex, sexuality, and gender identity.

The world's on fire, but what's crucial for conservatives to address is ideas on gender identity.

It seems absurd, but like I said, the future ain't what it used to be.
