Making drug possession a crime again

ending the state's experimentation with hard drug decriminalization, which turned out to be an

absolute disaster. Now follow me for a moment here because this will

upset some of you but understand I'm making an academic point. Let's take the emotions out of it. People who've had a loved

one who overdosed and died tend not to be rational in having this conversation.

People who've had a kid fall under the throes of

drug addiction or a parent if you grew up in a in a household of that time or a spouse and there are lots of people in this

country who have been affected by hard drug addiction. And it does tend to make you a person who can't have a simple

academic conversation about it. It hits too, it cuts too close to the bone and I understand that.

But the fact that Oregon decriminalized, there's a difference between legalizing and

decriminalizing, but the fact that they decriminalize the possession of hard drugs. I believed was probably a bad move. However, I'm a

pretty extreme libertarian. I believe that any power you give to government they will abuse,

they will selectively apply to harming their enemies and rewarding their friends. This is the selective

enforcement of laws. I think we have too many laws. I think we spend too much time

complying with laws.

It's why I'm a flat taxer.

Hey, everybody pay 10% and you know and then we'll be done.

We can disagree over the amount,

but all these loopholes are there for a reason to

create winners and losers and confusion. How many people end up running afoul of

the IRS who were doing their best and they can't understand it.
