Hello and welcome to the political orphanage, a home for Pucky Misfits and problem solvers.

I'm your host Andrew Heaton, coming to you from Chicago,

the site of the DNC Convention where Kamala Harris and Tim Walls will be nominated over the course

of the week for that party's ticket in the forthcoming election.

And I want to apologize in advance for a couple of things I am

stick and bindling it here at the DNC I have not been given a booth I have

barely been given

given access and so about 10 minutes ago I got scurried out of the Wall Street

Journal because I tried to get some free water out of their cooler. I'm now

sitting on a couch and I don't know whose couch it is but

there's a sign that says K-pop. So I think there's a Korean girl band that will be commenting on the election and I'm currently

in their seat. I don't know. If you hear the sounds of angry, youthful musical stars from another country it is because I am trespassing in

their seat I don't know and if you hear background noise that's what's going on I

will add also that because I am kind of flinging myself through the convention this is not a conventional episode where I am seated in my studio and able to read a monologue that I have exhaustedly written for you.

Rather, I am winging it with bullet points.

And so I don't think it'll entirely be a stream of thought,

but it will least be a little bit more off the cuff than usual.

And I hope that you will not find it too tedious or too rambly or

streamy of thoughty as I go. Rather my hope is that over the course of today's

episode you will get some insights or at least

some mulch for your brain on how to interpret Tim Walls and you can arrive at a

better conclusion on your own of what you make of him and your own assessments.
