In the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination, black people know political violence.

We have lived with it.

We are not yet free of it.

What is his point exactly?

Don't ask me as a black person who inherits this calling, the calling to struggle against

the boot on our necks because of racism

going all the way back to slavery, which ended in 1863. You shouldn't expect me to mourn this

guy because of that? Well, okay, I guess I shouldn't expect you to mourn it, but not because of that,

but because that would be asking a way more magnanimity from you than you're capable of,

given your axe grinding from which you are making a living.

You want to invoke the ancestors?
