This is a special one of those books.

It's by one of Washington's smartest thinkers on international issues and on the role

of the United States and the world.

Bob Kagan, the book is called The Ghost at the Feast, America and the Collapse of World

Order, 1900 to 1941.

It's the second volume in an anticipated three-volume series that's really a history of U.S.

foreign policy.

Bob, well, I know it's probably been a struggle to get this far.

I remember talking to you a few years ago about this and to think that you're two-thirds

of the way through it already is real impressive to me, so congratulations.
