To the uninitiated, reinforcement based dog training looks as if you have to walk around with a boatload of cookies or else you are not going to get your dog to do what you want. That’s just not true. 0:29.0	Hi, I'm Susan Garrett. Welcome to Shape by Dog. And let me explain to you the way that I go
0:43.2	about reinforcement-based dog training is different. It's pretty different from the way most people go
0:50.0	about it. And it really comes from my background. When I was 17 years old, I was in high school
0:55.8	and I applied for a summer job with the government. There were, I think, 50 jobs that I applied for.
1:02.9	And the one that I wanted the lease was called the Junior Agriculturalist Program where they took
1:06.9	a kid from the city and put them on a farm. I got on a dairy farm completely out of
1:11.8	my element, knew nothing about farming, never really touched a cow or seen a cow up close. I did
1:18.6	like horses, though. So, I thought it would be okay. First week, the farmer was always after me
1:24.6	for dragging my heels and walking so slow and lift my head.
1:27.7	My head was always down. I was so out of my element.
1:30.7	And then on Sunday afternoon, we played baseball out of my way.
1:34.5	We were out in the field. He was hitting balls to his kids and I.
1:38.1	And I was like catching balls all over the place.
1:40.1	And he said, wow, you turned into a different person.
1:43.8	You know what? You should find a job in your life
1:46.6	where you can turn it into a game for yourself. And that was when I was like, I like it was almost
1:52.6	18 actually. I was like a very young person and it stuck with me ever since. And that's exactly
