Summary

The Longhorns escaped a near-death experience in Lubbock Saturday when No. 8 ranked Texas struggled mightily down the stretch of the second half and needed to post 15 points in the final three minutes to force overtime against a Texas Tech that what struggled to beat FCS Houston Baptist two weeks ago. But the positive news for Texas is Sam Ehlinger led the charge and clawed his way back in the ball game, completing 7 of 8 passes and two touchdowns, including a successful two-point conversion, to tie the game 56-56 and force overtime. The rest was history for Texas and the Longhorns move to 2-0 on the season following the 63-56 win over Texas Tech. But how much of Saturday's game should cause concern for Texas faithful? On the first episode of The Flagship Reax, Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes give their quick hot takes on Saturday's performance and what the close win means for Texas as the team hopes to make a Big 12 title run. Chip and Taylor give their key takeaways from Saturday's game, including what we learned from the new Texas coaching staff and where the team's leadership lies coming out of the near-death experience.
