0:18.0	And the person who's going to be bringing the word tonight is a very special person.
0:22.3	Her name is Annie F. Downs. And Annie is, she's a unique person in the sense that she's actually
0:29.2	a part of church in the city of New York. So this is her house. This is home turf. And she's visiting
0:33.7	us today. She's got a great word that we all got to hear this morning. A little bit about Annie. She is a New York Times bestselling author. She's going to kill me for saying this, but she's a sought after speaker. And she actually has a podcast network called That Sounds Fun. And so if that tells you anything about who Annie is, I think that highlights her character.
0:55.8	She also is a New York Times best-selling author, and she is over the podcast, Let's Read the Gospels,
1:02.0	and 100 Days to Brave and Remember God are a couple of her books. And so when she comes up,
1:08.2	I'm just going to ask you guys just to show her that Church the City, New York City honor, and really just bless her as she comes up here.
1:14.8	So I'm going to read the teaching text. It comes from Acts chapter 6 versus 1 through 7.

1:25.9	In those days, when the number of disciples was increasing, the Hellenistic Jews among them
1:31.6	complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily
1:36.5	distribution of food.
1:38.7	So the 12 gathered all the disciples together and said, it would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the Word
1:45.9	of God in order to wait on tables. Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are
1:52.5	known to be full of the spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them and will
1:57.8	give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.
2:03.2	This proposal pleased the whole group.
2:07.2	They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit.
2:16.5	Also Philip, Prokeros, Nicanor, Timon, Feremanus, and Nicholas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.
