He is the author of many books, including several biographies, notably a Pulitzer Prize

finalist, Andrew Carnegie, as well as the Patriarch.

His new book is called The Last Million, Europe's Displaced Persons from World War to Cold War.

David, thanks for being here.

So you've written primarily biographies.

This is a very different book.

I mean, I guess you could say it's a million biographies.

Some of them work clearly outlined individually than others.

What made you decide to make that transition?
