Ryan Kraus and this is part two of the series covering

Elliot Roger in the Isle of Vista Massacre. Now in part one we combed

through Elliot's formative years from his birth through kindergarten and were able to

get a sense of the person he'd become down the road.

But I think what we learned, in summary, is that he was a privileged little boy who struggled

to find success socially and tried to fill the emptiness of that void with misguided notions of

stature to establish his worth. That's really the basis for the me versus the

world attitude that's going to rise to the surface with his anger.

Instead of indulging self-reflection to admit who and what he is,

he internalizes rejection and blames it on others for not seeing the truth.

That he's a superior male that women would be privileged to sleep with.

Elliot uses appearances obsessively to try to establish his worth, but never substance.

So we're going to talk about how this mental illness develops

and the manner in which society continues to foster it in the same ridiculous way

as trying to make left-handed people right-handed and gay people straight. Now to preface this

examination one thing I always like to stress is that we're a very primitive

species yet one that's evolving very rapidly. In that light, we generally hope beliefs that get whitewashed

by the passing of time and the development of newer technologies, but we also have a propensity

for hanging on to obsolete beliefs far too long. And this can be a very dangerous

thing because it leads to a single destination. Persecution. Society will indict your character for anything it doesn't like, and a witch hunt will ensue,

even in silence, to eliminate those values from its environment.
