does power always corrupt or are there examples of leaders who've maintained their

integrity while an authority and how does the nature of power vary across different times and cultures?

These are just some of the questions that Mary and I will be trying to answer.

politics down the ages. Hello podcast listeners I'm Connor and welcome to this week's episode of Intelligence Square. the Yes, they hosted a debate in partnership with the European Council of Foreign Relations on the question of whether the European Green Deal is fit for purpose.

It was a really fascinating debate as Francisco Bratner of the German Green Party went up against climate activist Taggio Mueller to debate questions

like how radical or realistic climate policy should be.

The debate was chaired by the BBC's Damian McGinnis and we hope you enjoy it.

How do we fight climate change?

Well if you ask the European Union, it's a new proposal called the Green Deal.

A trillion euros to make the EU make Europe the first climate neutral continent in the world

while boosting the economy so what's not to like according to critics and he's

one of them quite a lot. Too little too late they say.

And economic growth itself may indeed be the problem.

So what we're going to talk about tonight, in other words,

the debate is about what should we do?

Should we reform the present system?

Or is it time to take to the barricades and bring on the revolution?
