Clutch in her hands is a small jar secured with a tightly shut lid.

The jar is filled with sand, leaves, salt water, soil, and little rocks,

all of the things Louisa collected before it was time to get in the car.

It's all she's got left of her beloved Rio.

Louisa is a karyoka kid, which means she was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro,

also known as the marvelous city.

Rio is the city of Samba, beaches, mountains, and breathtaking skyscrapers.

It's a place where people are joyful and laid back, and summer lasts all year round.
