leaving this sort of holding area and going out onto the road,

and I'm not going to be interrupted at all

by Maitlis at any point now because what we're going to do is talk about Emily Maitlis's

unbelievable lecture to the Edinburgh Television Festival which has gone down a storm and come on Maitlis it was big issues and a big subject you were trying to deal with.

So give it to us in a nutshell.

And it's stuff that we've both contended with, me covering Donald Trump for four years,

you presenting Newsnight. It's that in an age of populism, has journalism really kept pace

with what we need to do to be holding politicians to account, not just that,

but also to serve the audience so that the audience understands what is going on and how political

communication has changed and how we rise to the challenge of it. Right. I'm so relieved. I'm relieved

that it means you got it and I conveyed it.

Because my thesis basically is that politics has massively changed.
