Last week, a coup took place in Niger, and the coup leaders have claimed that the ousted government had given permission to France to carry out an attack on the presidential palace in an attempt to free President Muhammad Bazoum.

Colonel Amadou Abdramanay, one of the coup plotters, made this statement on state television, saying that the authorization was signed by Foreign Minister Hussumi Masadou, who is acting as Prime Minister.

The whereabouts of Masadou and Bazoum are currently unknown.

France, Nigeria's former colonial ruler, condemned the coup but has not announced any military intervention.

The coup has led to regional and international calls for Bazoum's reinstatement, with the economic community of Western African states giving the coup leaders a week to seed power and threatening to use force to restore constitutional order if necessary.

Full and county district attorney, Fanny Willis, is expected to seek a grand jury indictment in the coming weeks regarding her investigation into Donald Trump and his allies efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

The investigation began over two years ago, after a leaked recording of a phone call between Trump and Georgia Secretary of State, where he asked to, quote, find enough votes to win the state.

If indicted, this would add to Trump's legal troubles as he faces other trials related to hush money payments and handling of classified documents.

The Georgian investigation may involve charges under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, with several investigative threads explored, including fake electors, false claims of election fraud, alleged attempts to pressure election workers, unauthorized access to election equipment, and the resignation of a U.S. attorney.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that three drones were shot down over Moscow. Ukraine did not directly acknowledge the attacks, but they are part of a pattern of increased cross-border strikes launched by Kiev against Russian forces since June.

This attack was the fourth on the capital region in a month, and the third in a week, highlighting Moscow's vulnerability as the war in Ukraine continues into its 18th month.

The drones were part of an attempted terrorist attack by the Kiev regime, with one drone shot down in the surrounding Moscow region, and two others crashing into the Moscow city business district.
