So we're going to go ahead and start by just introducing a little bit about ourselves and how we got onto this case.

So I'll go ahead and start.

My name is Andrea Burckhart.

I'm a practicing criminal defense attorney in Washington State.

I practice primarily in appeals these

days, but I did have an active trial practice for about 10 years, and I've been primarily a public

defender for most of my career. I became interested in the Delphi case, something I was aware of

from very early on with the ceiling of the probable

cause affidavit, it caught my attention, but then just kind of fell off my radar. And it was really

once that Franks memorandum was filed that it really captured my attention once again. And then

by the time the defense attorneys were removed from the case, I was pretty much

hooked on the story. Problem is I found it very difficult to access this case because transparency

has been a real problem. And that's one of the issues that has been very important to me.

So I knew when this case was going to go to trial, it was one I wanted to be here to be

able to witness because the sources of information would be so unreliable.
