Father, as I begin this final message on John 316, I'm so keenly aware on Christmas morning of a whole array of possible reasons why it might not or might have tremendous eternal impact. And I just pray now that you'd come in these next 20 minutes or so.

That you draw near, Father, that you'd open hearts, that you'd open hearts that you'd release my tongue in my mind and heart and that you Lord God would glorify your son Jesus so manifestly that he is irresistibly attractive and truthful

for every soul in this room. In his name I pray, amen. Well one more

Sunday now we've been on it for three We have one more in our looking at John 316. I want you to say it with me one more time. We'll use the word whoever instead of whosoever and the word eternal life instead of everlasting life.

If we get that much between our versions fixed, I think we can corporately say it to one another

and to the Lord.

Let's say it. For God so love the world that he gave

his only begotten son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Amen.

Oh, I hope you know it. I hope you believe it.

And if you haven't believed in the sun yet,

I hope that God will move and open you to that this morning.

That word of Jesus tells us about the danger, that's the first D, of perishing without him. It tells us about the

design of God's love to rescue us from perishing. It tells us about the duty of the human soul in responding

in faith or belief to the sun so that we can link up with the design of God to save by his love and this morning

it tells us the fourth D about the destiny that we have in eternal life if we have believed in the love of God.

So let's meditate. Let's take our minds now and for the next little while focus our minds earnestly, intently upon the destiny of the promise of this

text who ever believes will not perish but have eternal life. This is Christmas morning. And there isn't

anything better to think about on Christmas
