Dr. Ingolf Harry Turk, a prominent Massachusetts surgeon and the 2020 killing of his wife, Kathleen

McLean. This is a story of a whirlwind romance that quickly spiraled into domestic violence

and ultimately murder. It's a case that shocked

quiet town and left three children without their mother. Harry Turk and Kathleen McLean met online

in late 2017 and had a fast-paced romance. Kathleen was a single mom running a Reiki energy

healing business. Harry was a twice-divorced surgeon with grown children, known for his pioneering

work in robotic surgery. Despite their different worlds, very eastern and western medicine, sparks

flew quickly. Within months, Harry proposed. Friends described it as a whirlwind. He had just

bought a large new home in Dover, an affluent suburb, and he invited Kathleen and her kids to move in with him.

From the outside, it might have looked like a fairy tale, a charming doctor sweeping Kathleen off her feet, promising to take care of her and her children.

In December of 2019, about two years after they met, they traveled to Las Vegas and married in a drive-through chapel,

apparently on a whim well intoxicated, as I feel like many quicky Las Vegas marriages go,

but that impulsive wedding foreshadowed trouble. By early 2020, barely a couple of months into

the marriage, things had gone very wrong behind closed doors.

In January and February 2020, Kathleen McLean endured a series of frightening incidents.

In one case, Turk threw her to the floor so hard that her shoes flew off.

He dismissed it as saying that she slipped, but Kathleen was hurt and shaken.

Another time in a fit of rage,

he told her, I'm the king of this castle, you're only a guest, and actually cut off a lock of her hair with scissors, cutting her hand in the process. Oof. And it escalated further. Kathleen
