I'm your host, Greg Sergeant. Earlier this week, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed a handful of new gun control

bills. The state has seen a terrible spade of

gun violence that drew national attention, leading her to declare a state of

public emergency that infuriated some gun rights activists.

Lujan Grisham is in the middle of some important trends in our politics right now,

such as the success of Democrats in border states, the transformation of the southwest in a pro-Democratic

direction, and the rise of the female Democratic governor in the era of

Donald Trump. So we invited the governor on the show to talk about all of this.
