On Thursday Stormy Daniels faced withering cross examinationexamination from Donald Trump's attorneys in his

hush money trial in Manhattan.

By most accounts, she parried their efforts with humor in a fair amount of mockery directed

at Donald Trump and seemed to survive their assaults on her credibility.

That's essential to securing a conviction of Trump. What's troubling, however, is that all of this comes

even as it's now becoming clearer than ever that

Trump's other criminal trials probably won't take place before the election.

Which leaves us in the odd place of relying on the trial that's all about sorted seamy details, illicit

sex, hush money, and fraud to cover it all up as the one place where we may see
