On June 30th, 1999, a man's body was found in a case that only got

stranger and stranger the more police investigated. One that almost seems like the plot of a movie.

cup of murder. On June 30th,

1999, the body of a man was found in a cornfield near West Alton, Missouri by a woman driving

near Route 367. An area police were very familiar with, known as a, quote, criminal dumping

ground, it wasn't long before the body was identified

as Ricky McCormick. A high school dropout who, holding multiple addresses over the years,

was allegedly suffering from chronic heart and lung problems around the time of his death.

This, however, didn't seem to be his cause of death. According to sources,

Ricky, who was never married but fathered four children, two of which were with a 14-year-old

girl, had a criminal record and had previously 11 months of a three-year sentence for statutory rape.

He was just 41 years old at the time of his

death, unemployed, and receiving disability welfare payments. He was also a man who had yet to be

reported missing. Ricky was last seen at an amico station where he worked on and off, just three

days before his remains were found.
