Aaron Keller, a constable with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, was driving along Highway

27 in North Central British Columbia, Canada.

Suddenly something caught his attention.

A pickup truck emerged on the highway from the west. The truck was bouncing up and

down as if it were speeding over rough terrain at a high speed. The truck was

moving so fast it almost slid out of control. Keller saw red flags.

Whatever was going on with the driver he had a feeling something was very wrong.

He wasn't going to confront the driver without backup. He drove in the truck's direction

and sped to keep up with it. The speed limit posted on this road was 100 kilometers per hour. The truck exceeded this, racing between

110 and 115 kilometers per hour. When he spotted his backup, Constable Kanwalprit Sidhu driving northbound toward

him, he activated his emergency lights. The truck slowed down and stopped. It was 945. To

Keller's surprise, the driver stuck his license and registration out the window. Most

drivers were too on edge to think to do this. He got a

look at the driver. He was young. Looked like a teenager straight out of high school.

Calor initiated their dialogue.

Good evening, sir.

Where are you going in such a hurry?

I'm just on my way to my grandfather's house.

The driver didn't appear nervous or irate. He was cordial and polite.

Callor noticed that the driver's attire was not appropriate for the cold winter night.
