Frank Abagnale was a pilot, doctor, lawyer, and professor, or at least he pretended to be. People commonly know him as the inspiration for the movie Catch Me If You Can.

His story of scamming and deceit is commonly known and is so out there that some speculate it can't be true.

Is it possible that Frank

actually lied his way through much of his early adult life without getting caught?

Or is Frank still conning us to this day?

Hello everyone and welcome to Multilable Mondays. I'm the Illuminati and today we're going to be talking about Frank Abagnale.

Frank allegedly con corporations, mainly Pan Am airlines out of millions of dollars back in the

1960s and 70s.

In those days, it wasn't easy to scam people with fake checks either.

You needed a Heidelberg printed press, you had to be a skilled printer, you had to understand color separations. Now you pretty much just need a working internet connection. Scams are far easier today in many ways,

but Frank made it look easy decades ago, too.

With just a few printing tricks and forgeries,

Frank raked in $2.5 million from bad checks, which would be about $18.5 million today.

He had free travel all over the world, and he was able to switch from respectable jobs, like

doctor to lawyer lawyer to Professor.

His story has been told a variety of times in the media

from movies featuring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio

to his best-selling book called Catch Me If You Can.

And to clarify, both the book and the movie

are called Catch Me If You Can, sorry.

Frank managed to be anything he ever wanted.

Well, sort of.
