we are taping Wednesday a few days away from the Heisman, also a few days on the back end away from the

CFP's momentous announcement of who the final four teams were and who didn't make it. Now that you've had some times to digest it, anything else

come to mind. I know we were pretty animated about the decision the other day.

How do you feel about it now?

Well, when we recorded it the other day, I think I was still kind of in shock, right?

I haven't had a lot of time to process it at that point.

I certainly have now, and I've read all the takes and I think that if you want to say they did what they were supposed to do, they were told to pick the four best teams.

There's even a clause in there about considering injuries and guys that might not be available for the post season.

Then that's it. That's... Why not pick Georgia if you're doing the four best teams?

Well, I was about to say is, I think they apply...

What I've come to think is they applied a definition of best to Florida State that they didn't apply to

anybody else in this poll and anybody else that I could recall that was a college football playoff

contender and that's what makes this so jarring it's like if this is the way it's supposed to be done

then you weren't doing your job for the last nine years

and you didn't do your job elsewhere in these rankings.

I would also say that it kind of,

it made me rethink a little bit, just, you you know I covered in 2012 all the negotiations that led to the

playoff as it is and and the formation of the committee which is really a compromise between

Jim Delaney who thought it should be only conference

champions and Mike's live we thought it should be wide open like a top 25 poll and

so the the compromise was this language that you see now about we're going to pick the
