0:48.9	She had lived in the area for the last 60 years, growing up nearby with her seven sisters and brother, four of whom
0:56.2	were still alive, and spent decades working for the State Education Department until her retirement
1:02.2	in 1968. It was supposed to be a time where she relaxed and lived out the rest of her golden
1:08.2	years. But when August 19, 1994, rolled around,
1:13.2	and no one seemed to be able to get in contact with Violet,
1:16.4	that sense of peace came to a sudden and devastating halt.
1:21.7	Sterling, her brother, decided to make his way over to her home
1:25.1	after realizing that no one had heard from his sister in two days.
1:30.0	Noticing that her 1989, Plymouth Reliant, was still parked in its normal spot in her multi-building complex.
1:37.1	Sterling, along with Violet's niece Carol, made his way into her apartment and found the elderly woman lying dead in the living room.
1:46.9	The autopsy would later determine that her death was caused by several blows to the back of her head,
1:53.1	likely occurring two days before her body was found, and during the course of what was very clearly a robbery.
