I'm your host Andrew Heaton, and today we are going to discuss wokness and social justice in the context of religion.

Now part of me, part of me, really just wants to wail on wokeness, point out the many, many examples

of wokeness merrily lubing itself up in religiosity, guilt, send magical words, zealotry, preening

insufferable moralists and scolds, or their counterparts, guilt-written self-wipping penitence and hair shirts, what we might rightly

call the religious left.

We could do an entire episode just pointing out largely irritating parallels to religion, particularly from the standpoint of a comedian

or the comedians that are joining me on today's panel. But myself and my colleagues in the

world's smartest podcast network

are going to hold back a little bit,

try not to whip ourselves into a froth.

Instead, we'll ask ourselves some very relevant questions

to this topic.

What constitutes a religion? Does social justice qualify as an Airsat's

spirituality? Do we all, including the atheists and secularists in the room, do we all have sacred

tenets and beliefs we treat

religiously even if we're loath to call them that? And if that is the case, how do we

navigate each other's sacred assumptions and our own? Then afterwards, I'll slop some industrial-grade comedy on everything and make fun of

wokeness.
