We all know that news cycles move at breakneck speed every 24 hours, even multiple times within

the 24 hour period, which is why cable news hosts look so insane because they keep dealing with

it. And we have to deal with it here too. The Chicago way is about the news after all. And

though we had Alderman Ray Lopez on in a podcast I thought was good, our last podcast, it got

buried by the news. Sorry Ray. Good stuff on Yolanda Gate and Madigan's lawyer running the

remap deal. But things happen and news happens. And now Mike Madigan has been indicted as everybody

knows. I've been on doing media interviews all over the place trying to write my own column for

John Cass News doing this, but think of this. Mike Madigan, the big blue eyes,

gigantic, all-seeing, like the eyes of T.J. Ackelberg, the Oculus and the Great Gatsby.

If you haven't read the Great Gatsby, well you should. There's a big billboard and I happen to

like billboards now. And that billboard had the big eyes staring at the scene of what would be a crime.

And Mike Madigan has seen so much and to talk about him and what he's meant to the state.

I think of no better analyst than a man who's been down in Springfield for almost as long as Mike
