There were 49 people shot in the city of Chicago over the Memorial Day weekend, more than

their worst shot last year, more dead than last year.

The Chicago public schools don't pretend even to educate it anymore, particularly the

low income black and brown students that serve as cash cows for the Chicago Teachers Union.

The politics isn't disarray.

The police department has been brutalized by politics and has gone fetal.

And through all this, I have a question.

Can Paul Vellis as mayor save the city of Chicago?
