Summary

Javi Sanchez hadn't consistently run for more than a decade when he started in 2023 to lose some weight and get active. A year later, the Oxford resident and Ole Miss fan completed the Houston Marathon in under three hours and is chasing a qualifying time entry into the 2025 Boston Marathon. We talk about his journey, how the NCAA ended his chance to compete for Ole Miss and how this isn't about running as much as looking for goals, even if instant gratification isn't part of it. And the journey that's happened that is really, we get down in the weeds, but it's so much

1:25.3

more than the marathon training or anything like that. But, you know, setting goals and things that don't have instant gratification, things that aren't necessarily given to you in the immediacy and the commitment and the consistency that's required for that. I think that's kind of the story of this podcast, as Hobby and I go through what's going on with him him his decision to put a lot of it on social media
