My name is Andy Smeteri, and as always,

I'm joined by my co-host and good friend Taylor Wells. How you doing, pal? Doing pretty good,

doing pretty good. Really excited with some of the stuff that's been coming out in the past week,

especially after our smashing episode last week?

Yes.

So it's been a eventful week in terms of just stuff happening in the gaming world.

Of course, we are going to do a little bit of follow up on our smash prediction episode that we did last week. We had that big smash direct,

and we're going to give you our impressions of that, and we're going to talk about smash for

probably a long time. We're going to talk about the bombshell that Nintendo dropped with

Breath of the Wild and its timeline placement, in which timeline it falls in. But first,

the biggest story of this last week was undoubtedly the IGN plagiarism accusations that that came about after a small YouTuber named boomstick gaming

published a video that said IGN copied my dead cellscells review. What do I do? This video

went viral and then IJN immediately pulled their review of a video game called Dead Cells and

did some investigating. And basically, the long and short of it is the lead writer of their

Nintendo branch plagiarized this review from this small YouTube

outlet and IGN determined that he did that and let him go and even yesterday he released

a video explaining his actions and apologizing but not really apologizing it was just it

was super bizarre and it was just like,

I can't remember reading about anything like this, well, ever in the video game industry.

So what are, what are your thoughts? Because I'm just simply fascinated by this story. I'm fascinated by what would make this guy do this. What would make him think that he could get away with this? What is going to happen to boomstick? There's so many other variables. And of course, the common perception was, you know, if you plagiarizeize once you've probably plagiarized a bunch
