Summary

In this lesson we’re looking at the verb finir meaning “to finish” or “to end”. Finir is an example of a regular -ir verb. This means that with this lesson not only will you learn to conjugate finir in the present, perfect, imperfect and future tenses, you’ll also learn to conjugate hundreds of other regular -ir verbs!

Welcome back to the Coffee Break French Verbefix, this is the show in which I help you get your weekly fix of Coffee Break French, and help you sort out your verbs in the process so that you can use them accurately and effectively in your spoken and written French.

This is the second in our season of Tensions, and today we're going to be focusing on the Verbe Finir, and indeed all the regular IR verbs, that's verbs, which end in IR and which follow these same patterns that we'll be learning today.

As we did last time, we're going to be looking at four tenses, the present tense, the perfect tense, the imperfect and the future.

We'll go through the conjugations, and you can learn the patterns so that you can apply them when you need them.

So today we're looking at the verb finir. That's F-I-N-I-R, F-I-N-I-R.
