So, okay, I would wager that if you mentioned 1978 to any person who lived in Indiana or any part of the Midwest at the time, you're going to hear the same thing.

They would tell you the tale of the Blizzard of 78.

It's the Blizzard.

The 24 inches of snow, the almost 25 foot snow drifts, the National Guard had to come in.

School was closed for like a month, I think.

It's like the defining moment in Indiana.

Even snow in Indiana without somebody being like, well I was alive for the

Blizzard of 78. This is nothing. Yeah, even now if you mention it, like at any point, it's like, this is nothing, honey, nothing. Hi, when you alive in the Blizzard of 78? You don't know Snow. So 1978 really seemed to be an apocalyptic time period for the otherwise sleepy town of Speedway, Indiana.

Until 1978, the area only had three homicides in the town's entire previous 52 years of existence.

Good for them. Not anymore, but no.

Considering Indianapolis can sometimes be pretty dangerous more so now than in 1978. Three

three homicides in 52 years would definitely constitute a quiet sleepy safe town.
