And tonight, we are going to talk about the character of Enoch. Are you ready for that?

I'm down for it. I've always been intrigued by old Enoch lore.

Yeah.

So Enoch is so interesting because, well, the book is a non-canonical book.

Scholars have dated it around the 4th or 3rd century BCE.

So the fragments have come to us from antiquity.

And it is a ancient Hebrew religious text that the Bible references, but it is not part of

canonized scripture.

But was it at one point?

It is part of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church canon of Scripture.

Yes, which I'm curious and maybe I don't know why, but like why doesn't the Russian or Greeks or any other Orthodox Christianity arms follow it and just the Ethiopian does?

Because there is a part eventually, I think in book three, where Enoch is declared the Messiah.

And so they, obviously that's heretical. And they condemned it. But a lot of the

church fathers talk about the book of Enoch and they reference it. And we'll get into exactly who and

what. So this book is considered, how do you say this?
