Are you distracted by so many things this time of year?

Let's take a break and find help refocusing our attention on the truly important part of this

Christmas season. Now the Christmas story is a beautiful story but the issue is

what does it mean to you?

What has it said to you?

What difference has it made in your life? Well, in this passage of scripture that I want to deal with this

morning there are three different ways you can respond. So I want you to turn to

the second chapter of Matthew and I want you to turn to the second chapter of Matthew.

And I want us to read these first 12 verses together.

And this is the account of the visit of these men

from a far away called the Magi, and the question is what does it say to us?

I think it'll say more to you than you expect.

So beginning in verse 1 of this second chapter. Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem

of Judea in the days of Herod the king, Magi came from the east, arrived in

Jerusalem saying,

where is he who has been born the King of the Jews?

But we saw his star in the East and have come to worship him.

When Herod the King heard this, he was troubled and all Jerusalem with him.

Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Messiah was to be

born. They said to him in Bethlehem of Judea, for this is what has been written by

the prophets and then they told him.
