The Big 12 Conference is set to own Friday nights in college football going forward.

And while the traditionalist to me hates it, I've come to accept it's the best thing for the Big 12 to grow.

came out for the first few weeks of the Big 12 football season for 2024.

And as I'm looking at it, and we'll get to it here in a second, there's a lot to look at and say,

okay, this is great for the Big 12.

But the thing that stands out is to me the way this conference is going to be the Friday night option for the big TV

networks in 2024 and even more so in the future. So this is unfortunate for those of us who

love Friday night lights when it comes to high school football. But this is the best thing for

the big 12 to appease TV partners and to create value

for TV partners to justify paying these colleges and these universities tens of millions of

dollars a year for the football product. Right now, especially September, October, Friday night

is a dead zone.

And Brett Yormark and the Big 12 are basically saying to the TV partners, hey guys, put us on

Friday nights.

You know, let's put a Kansas UNLV game on a Friday night instead of having that game on a
